Province/Territory: Saskatchewan

Immerse yourself in a Western Canadian ranch experience

  • 1904 first year of ranching at Cypress Hills
  • 05 generations of family homesteading
  • 4,175 foot altitude with a grand prairie view

Saddle up for a true Western Canadian cowboy adventure with the Reesor family on a century-old working heritage ranch in the Saskatchewan prairies. Don a ten-gallon hat and chaps to ride the same valleys, forests and wildflower-dotted Cypress Hills trails followed by First Nations and pioneer settlers. Mingle with ranch hands and join in daily routines. Take part in a cattle drive and experience the tradition of branding. See newborn calves in spring. Taste a “prairie oyster” or sit down to savour a home-cooked, ranch-raised natural beef steak after a day of fresh country air. Take a sunset carriage ride and relax in the glow of a campfire, swapping stories and cowboy poetry with your hosts. Soak off the day’s dust by slipping into an antique tub for a hot bath. Then head to your rustic log cabin as the aurora borealis dances across the vast prairie sky.
