Experience the thrill of owning a racehorse

  • 80 race dates
  • 01 mile course
  • 100+ Years of Racing History

Enjoy an age-old Charlottetown tradition and join in the fun at a night at the Red Shores Raceway. Let your host guide you through the mysteries of the racecourse. Don’t know your ‘daily double’ from your ‘trifecta’? You will when you leave. Learn how to read the racing form and pick a horse - just like the pros. Tour the track as a VIP; experience what it’s like to own a racehorse, just for one night. Get the behind-the-scenes scoop from trainers and drivers and take photos in the paddock with you and your horse.
Relax over a delicious buffet dinner with a panoramic view of the track. Hold your breath as your horse races past the finishing line - will you be joining the winner’s  circle?

Why you should visit

Take a guided tour around the Grandstand; soak up more than a hundred years of history and hear stories of the great horses and colourful drivers who’ve raced here.
Meet your horse and trainer; watch the elaborate race preparations, talk tactics and hear your driver’s race strategy.
Dive into a generous buffet dinner featuring ocean-fresh PEI seafood, locally-raised beef and a far-too-tempting dessert selection.
Fingers crossed; shout your encouragement as your horse’s race begins. Watch the sun set over the tracks and the lights come up as horse and driver race towards the line.
