Helicopter tour offers private romantic rendezvous in the Rocky Mountains

Set romance flying when you board your private helicopter for a flight into the remote backcountry of the Rockies on the Heli-Romance experience. Enjoy the flight over mountain peaks and lush forests to the base of the Cline Glacier near Jasper National Park or Horseshoe Canyon and Cox Hill near the Kananaskis Provincial Park. Your pilot acts as a trail guide taking you on a summer hike through the meadows to a waterfall to feel the fresh  mist against your skin. In the winter, strap on a pair of snowshoes to trek through a blanket of snow. When you're done exploring, the pilot-turned-host provides a picnic basket with a bottle of sparkling wine and decadent desserts in the summer, or in the winter a warm offering of coffee and Bailey's along with that yummy dessert. He'll leave you alone to enjoy the rest of your adventure. It’s private, it’s secluded and it’s all yours to explore or to just relax in peaceful splendor. Is this the day you pop the question? Profess undying love? Or just remember why the person you're with is so special. The beauty of the landscape will compel the romantic in you!

Why you should visit

• See quiet lakes swiftly turn into powerful waterfalls falling from the precipice, then follow the river through the valley all from the comfortable seat of your helicopter
• Create a lasting memory with the one you love. What better place to say “I do!” A photo at the end of the journey captures the excitement
• Experience the solitude of the great Canadian backcountry for picnics, trail runs, fishing trips and backwoods camping trips on other excursions
• See wild animals in their natural habitat far away from the highways
• Fly over the massive field of ancient ice of the Columbia Icefield, then explore it in an Ice Explorer on the Columbia Icefield Adventure
• Explore Banff and Jasper National Parks

• The mountain regions of Alberta experience long harsh winters and brilliant summers. Either season has unpredictable weather and snow can fall even in the summer months, therefore cold weather precautions should be taken any time of the year.
• Summer days (June to August) are long with daytime temperatures reaching highs of 15°C and cooling in the evenings to 5°C. Less than 10 cm of rain is expected each month but it can be misty. So always bring sun protection, a sweater and rain protection.
• The Romance Heli tours are offered during the summer months at the Icefield location, but are offered all year in the Kananaskis so bundle up or bring snowshoes to add to the winter adventure.  November through March expect lots of snow (up to 2.6 metres) and an average temperature of -10°C.
• Spring (April – May) still has a large volume of snow falling but the daily temperature is warming up. April’s average daytime temperature is 4°C and May is 8°C. Warmer coats, gloves and boots are advised.
